E-learning allows for Distance education, a kind of education used by colleges and higher institutes of learning such as universities and polytechnics. Through distance education, students not present at school can still receive education.
Few schools in the current pandemic situation have resorted to distance learning. This is because, although it is relatively cost effective, most schools being average aren’t able to implement it. Distance learning does not incorporate the factors of classroom-based learning such as transport costs, learning resources, and special equipment. It however bears on data enabled smartphones and laptops along with consistent power supply, which is hard to come by for Nigerian students especially does whose parents aren’t rich.
As distance learning might not so be feasible, E-learning websites would allow students to learn school work irrespective of whether school opens or not.
