He revealed that online screening and auditions had begun for the reality show.

According to Idonije, the objective of STREETCEOs was to kick-start the African startup nation. He said that the show is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2020,

“The working dynamics is 25 tech startup founders will be admitted to the live boot camp where they will be trained and mentored by seasoned experts for two months.

”The founders will also be given an opportunity to pitch their ideas to Venture Capitalists (VCs) and Angel investors (popular investors in the technology sphere).

“The show is loaded with lots of activities and promises to be educative, motivating and entertaining,” he said.

Idonije disclosed that the reality show was expected to attract over 250 million viewers globally on its maiden edition, capitalising on multi-unified streaming capabilities (traditional cable television and digital platforms).

“We are also leveraging on the over 800 million active mobile phones and internet users in Africa alone,” he said.

Idonije said that the growing dependence on online transactions prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic had revealed a gap in online solutions on the African continent.

The expert said that Africa needed to be ready to cash in on the ongoing online revolution, by engaging tech-savvy minds to explore the new terrain.

“It is glaring that there is emergence of a new world order as the fourth industrial revolution is here, making the work plans more realistic than anticipated.

“The question that begs for an urgent answer is: ‘Is Africa really prepared for this new wave?’

“Humans have to think more than machines to be able to stand out.

“Africa has most of the brightest minds and very resourceful potential that are willing and able to meet with global trend without bothering about the challenges, but poised toward changing the narrative,” he said.

Idonije said that this had compelled the introduction of STREETCEO to change the narrative.

He said it would place Africa in the world map, not just as an ecosystem enabler but also a solution to revolutionalise the Africa startup nation to accelerate commonwealth.

Idonije said that Africa was the future for online solutions with a steaming population of over 1.5 billion and over 800 million active phones and internet users.
