Bethel music has consistently been on the frontlines of gospel music.
The american music label, originating from bethel church, is made up of a collective of songwriter and musicians.
Although its single releases had been affected by the global pandemic in 2020, the musical label impressively unveiled its Revival’s in the Air album, which consists of 17 songs featuring top bethel musicians.
So far, the songs released by bethel musicians have all been played by Geeky Nigeria, and the Top 5 rating has been compiled.
The metrics used to rate the songs are based on, but not limited to:
- Message of the music
- On-stage performance
- Instrumentation/Band
- Reception by viewers/audience
Top 5 Songs
5. Prepare The Way
The song was sung by Bethany Wohrle and Dante Bowe. It features on the list majorly for its strong message which centers on revival.
Upon hearing the song, there is a feeling on believers to have the holy spirit in their midst again as it were in old times.
The Instrumentation was poor as it could not reflect the message of the music.
For the on-stage performance, Bethany and Dante could have added more emotion to blend with the remarkable message.
4. Always Good
In this case, the instrumentation wins by a large margin.
The Hannah McClure solo could have faired better had it been the message was clear.
Throughout the song, there wasn’t any reference to Jesus or God. It maintains the second person “You”, which can mean a human.
On her part, Hannah did a remarkable solo performance as she was able to blend to the content of the song.
3. I Will Rise
The song features Kristene Dimarco in a short solo performance.
It has the makings of a great song (good message & nice band), but Kristene actually needed help.
Perhaps with the inclusion of a male singer such as Brandon Lake, the chances might have improved.
2. God Of Revival
Brian & Jenn Johnson were spectacular as they sang in this song.
The message is about the power of God and how he can deliver his people from bondage.
What makes this song unique is it’s contemporary nature: how it blends in with the issue of the global pandemic and our belief that only God can save us.
The song could have gotten the top spot should the instrumentation consolidate the efforts of the singers.
1. Reign Above It All
The message of the song emphasises the fact that God reigns over all circumstances regardless of how tough they may be.
It also clearly recognises that the name of Jesus is higher than any other name.
Paul McClure solo performance was in touch with the instrumentation. So far, the song have excelled in all key areas.
