The education of a child is solely dependent on the disposition of the parent or guardian who sees the need to secure the child’s future.
Securing a child’s future entails enrolling the child in a school where there is sound discipline, moral uprightness, industry and academic excellence.
Also, prompt payment of school fees, provision of textbooks, writing materials and others, as these provide for a conducive learning atmosphere for the child.
All these form the bases for good learning and teaching experience, which the cumulative effect is quality education, delivered by quality and qualified teachers.
While the school plays its part in equipping the child with knowledge and grooming him, it nearly becomes a training in futility when parents fail to play their part.
When you do not see the need to do the needful and tend to derogate from your responsibility as a parent, you are not investing in your child’s future. His future becomes somewhat blighted.
However, when you as a parent make it a point of duty as it is your obligation, to ensure that your child is not sent out of school on account of defaulting or late payment of school fees and others, you are encouraging the school to put its best foot forward to securing your child’s future.
The future of every child lies in the hands of his or her teachers, and by extension, the school, which also includes the child’s school mates. The school needs to be encouraged to give the child the best as every child deserves nothing but the best.
In view of this, parents who have chosen to invest in their children’s future, securing their future with school and are playing their roles as responsible parents, are helping to build their children’s future in no small measure.
At this juncture, I will highlight a few points as regard the benefits of investing a child’s future in education.
Knowledge and Power
Knowledge is synonymous with power. It is information gained. And this information is so powerful that it could either make or destroy. This buttresses the saying that, “Information is power.”
knowledge is the greatest gift ever on earth. Although some people may argue that having riches or being wealthy is better than having an education. This is a misconception. As good as affluence is, a person who does not have an education lacks the requisite knowledge or information to have absolute control of his life. They lack the power to be independent, to influence positive changes around them. They lack the power to independently and effectively deal with matters affecting their social lives.
A person who is educated and well-informed is armed with a sense of responsibility to shape and mould his life in a way as to fit into any social class.
He is independent of others when it comes to matters affecting his social life. He wields powers to positively affect lives in the social scene and influence changes around him. Of course, he is also rich, intellectual wise.
As a parent, you must give your child that desired quality education he needs to possess such powers by investing in his future, and now. Doing what behooves you to do about his school is simply sacrosanct.
Better Association
One way to influence better association of people with a child is to make him or her an invaluable asset; put more value on the child. This will expose the child to the larger society, thereby attracting people that matter.
In our contemporary society, uncivilized people are not really always considered. This is because every society needs people who can bring their wealth of experience to bear. Of course, nobody ever has an experience without knowledge.
Those who have such wealth of experience or knowledge are always given a better place in society. Again, this is because they are considered more resourceful, on account of the indispensable and invaluable knowledge they have acquired.
There is no better time than now to give your child that education which gives this knowledge to make him feel a sense of belonging while he is growing up. Whatever you give your child at this stage in life and eventually becomes part of him, substantially determines his future.
Respect and Prestige
Investing in a child’s future now puts him in a position of great administration in the near future. The quality of education you provide a child today speaks volumes for his or her personality tomorrow.
Yes, it is an irrefutable fact that respect is earned and is self-stimulated. If you teach a child to attract and earn respect from other people now and he grows up with it, it simply will be that prestige is in his blood.
It is on record that, if anyone talks about respected and responsible people in the world today, they do so in recognition and consideration of the people’s intellectual influence in one area of life or another.
There is no one among our past or present heroes and heroines or great people who has influenced our society with just material wealth. In fact, what has made them great men and women is what they offered to society using their knowledge. Their intellectual pedigree accounts for this.
All these and lots more make a whole child. Therefore, the best any responsible parent could do for his or her child would be to invest in the child’s future. Needless to reiterate that a responsible parent is also that man or woman who ensures payment of his or her child’s school fees, and on time, provide textbooks, writing materials and other requirements for the child’s learning comfort.
It is very much within the realms of possibility that with knowledge and its right and maximum use, we can surmount seemingly insurmountable challenges of life.
That which is seemingly unfeasible, perhaps because of the lack of investment in education can be achieved. Let’s invest in knowledge; invest children’s future in education.
