In today’s world, new year’s resolutions are made with flippant negligence.
This shows the mannerism of those who make such resolutions. While some people consciously renege on them, others do so under circumstances beyond their control.
In the past, many people have made new year’s resolutions like, to quit smoking, drinking, womanizing, flirting. Others such as building a (new) home, buying a (new) car and marriage.
Many were able to keep such resolutions, whereas many others could not.
On marriage/relationship scene, what has been the story? Today, many youth (young men and ladies) of marriageable age are still single. For some, the fault is entirely theirs, while others only wallow in the spirit of misfortune orchestrated by warlocks and evildoers, or perhaps as fate has ordained.
What You Need To Know
When you’re in a relationship looking to marriage, don’t force yourself when things are not working well for you. The most crucial thing to do at this time would be to pray for your relationship.
When you pray fervently and there are still no changes; you still don’t feel any sense of compatibility, security and others, do not continue, perhaps because there are benefits you’re getting from the relationship or your partner, or for some other reasons.
Don’t even contemplate marriage. The best you could do for yourself would be to withdraw and move on with your life.
Focus
Avoid double dating. Unfortunately, some men of God had on several occasions mentioned that there’s nothing wrong with double dating. Hmm, this is somewhat spiritually hypersensitive!
Incontrovertibly, when you’re in a good and well defined relationship and you’re double dating, you’re unwittingly doing more harm to yourself than good. There’s always a better future with just one relationship that means everything.
Agility
When you choose to continue with such relationships in which you feel no sense of compatibility, but don’t want to let go for some reasons, you’re denying yourself better opportunities. Consequently, you’ll eventually see your future being marred by circumstances.
In the event you proceed with marriage, there are 95 percent chances that your marriage will crumble sooner or later. This is mostly on account of incompatibility. More so, the marriage is not ordained by God.
Courage
When your friends, younger ones and female folks are getting married and you don’t feel belonging, don’t feel compelled to join the league.
Don’t get married out of frustration, desperation, or by reason that you’re not getting younger – you’re growing before your time.
Do not succumb to pressure and get married at the expense of your life, especially when you feel you’re not with the right person. Marriage isn’t child’s play. Pray and work on yourself and God will provide the one who’s meant for you at his appointed time.
Prayer
If you’ve had broken relationships in the past for no obvious reasons, check and upgrade yourself spiritually and physically. This will better position you for a better and lasting relationship that’ll lead to sustainable marriage when you’re with the right one.
Respect/Attitude
Do not look down on anyone. When you tend to look down on people, you fail to look beyond the present. In life, everyone has his or her time.
Some people may appear to be nobody today but have great future. Don’t ever consider just the present in any relationship. The future of your partner should be of utmost consideration.
Decision
Seek God’s direction and do not waste time when the time comes. If you choose to do otherwise, you’ll rob yourself of the time; you’ll forfeit the golden opportunity of a lifetime, and regret will continue to ring in your head when the time’s up.
