Kwara State Police has rescued the kidnapped 300L student of KWASU, and arrested 6 suspects.
This was revealed in a press release, signed by Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) SP. Okasanmi Ajayi.
The Commissioner of Police, Kwara state Command, CP Tuesday Assayomo said that the command has rescued the abducted University student, Khadijat Isiaq and arrested six suspects.
The victim, a 300 Level female student of Mass Communication, Kwara State University, Malete was kidnapped on Aug. 23, at Okoru village, near Malete at about 9:30 p.m.
According to the statement, operation conducted in rescuing the abducted student was in accordance with the support of the Inspector General of police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.
Also, with the help of the local hunters, vigilante group and the school authority.
The PPRO said that the Commissioner of Police reassured his commitment to make the state inhabitable for criminals.
Ajayi said that six suspects involved in the act had been arrested and different varieties of weapons used in the kidnap were recovered.
“I am happy to inform the general public of the successful search and rescue operation conducted in liberating the abducted 300L Mass Communication female student of Kwara State University by name Isiaq Kadijat.
“The command wishes to acknowledge the support of the Inspector General of police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the local hunters, vigilante and the school authorities,” Assayomo said.
“Six suspects involved in the act have been arrested, different categories of weapons used in the kidnap were also recovered. The suspects will be charged to court after investigation.
“The victim has been medically examined and declared fit and will be reunited with her family,” PPRO said.
