MOJEC Prepaid Meter Codes And How To Troubleshoot

MOJEC Prepaid Meter is one of the most commonly used meters in Nigeria.

Having witnessed a remarkable turnaround in design recently, the prepaid meter seems to be on track to deliver excellent prepaid meter services to its customers. Hence, it is no surprise that electricity distribution companies have been patronising MOJEC.

As with other meters in Nigeria, the prepaid meter is sometimes affected by faults and problems, which can hamper its functionality. So, it becomes important to understand the MOJEC prepaid meter, and what might be causing it to malfunction.

What are MOJEC Prepaid Meter Error codes?

The Error Codes In Mojec Prepaid Meter are an indication of a fault or problem currently facing the meter. They are what customers encounter when they try performing an operation or accessing the Prepaid Meter.

What can I do with error codes?

The Codes point to a particular issue. Use them to understand what might caused the problem, and provide ways to solve the problem

Common Error Codes

Note that these errors require the assistance of your electricity company or MOJEC customer care.

Error 1

This error code means RAM failure. Check to see if the Random Access Memory (RAM) is connected or working properly. If you can’t check without tampering with the meter, contact the electricity distribution company to avoid Meter Tampering.

Error 2

This code means EEPROM failure. This is a technical issue. Contact the electricity company for assistance.

Error 3

It indicates that the power supply diode has failed. In this case a technician is well equipped to fix the fault.

Error 6

In this case, you may be using a wrong key, or the key associated with the meter is faulty. To solve this issue, reach MOJEC customer care.

Error 10

The meter is unable to function due to wrong meter number. Check to see if there’s dirty contact on Keys.

AEDC MOJEC Meter Codes

These codes are not error codes. They are used on the Customer Interface Unit (CIU) to send commands and instructions to the meter so as to get information. Verified for AEDC Customers.

These codes are used by IE Customers, note how similar they are to AEDC Mojec Meter. They are also entered on the CIU.

Resetting MOJEC Prepaid Meter

If after trying all you could, but your prepaid isn’t still working perfectly. You can reset it. Follow the steps on your CIU as outlined below:

  1. Press 990, then Enter.
  2. Press 0000, then Enter, the response “Good” should Display.
  3. Press 999, then Enter. You should see “Reset”.
  4. Remove the plug under the CIU, and plug again.
  5. Load token again,and all should go well.
