The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is set to matriculate 19,766 students at its 22nd matriculation ceremony on Tuesday, 12th April, 2022.
The university spokesman, Malam Ibrahim Sheme, in a press release, noted that NOUN 22nd Matriculation Ceremony will hold simultaneously across the 103 study centres of the university across the country at 11.00 a.m. virtually.
According to the spokesman, the virtual platform will serve as a platform to formally welcome all newly-admitted students into the university for the 2021-2022 academic session.
At the ceremony,the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Prof. Olufemi Peters, will also welcome the new students and matriculate them into the university.
This year’s ceremony, according to Sheme is unique in the history of NOUN because it is the first time the institution is holding matriculation on a week day.
Recall that NOUN lecturers aren’t part of the ongoing ASUU strike, and as such the newly matriculated students are expected to follow up on the academic activities since commencement of the academic session.
