MTN Nigeria has launched its Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) call service, the first ever to be introduced by a tech company in Nigeria.
The new VoLTE service by MTN should provide access to the best communications technology and improve overall customer experience.
VoLTE or HD (high definition) calls, is featured on recent smartphones. It allow users with supporting networks, to make calls with superior natural-sounding quality, and reduced background noise and faster call connectivity.
Speaking about the service, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Nigeria, Adia Sowho, was excited to on its availability to customers.
“With VoLTE, MTN Nigeria continues to enhance Nigerian lives with innovative technology.
“The MTN VoLTE is free to access today at your rates, from VoLTE-enabled smartphone so you can call and surf at the same time with no interruptions ever again. We move!” he said.
Concerning the tarrif, MTN VoLTE call service will be charged at regular call rates, and made available to customers with VoLTE-enabled devices such as Tecno Phantom X, Infinix Zero X and Infinix Zero X Pro smartphones. Other device models will be supported soon.
To utilise the VoLTE service, firstly, customers need to check they have a 4G USIM, then text 4G to 131 to confirm if they are within a 4G coverage area. The service requires 4G to work.
