Out of the 110 students from 45 schools across Nigeria that participated in the in the June and November Cambridge examination series, 11 emerged with very high scores.
This was announced at the British Council Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards (BROCLA) 2022 in Lagos, organised by the The British Council in Nigeria, in collaboration with the Cambridge University Press.
The students, having covered a wide range of courses from Cambridge IGCSEs to Cambridge O Levels to Cambridge International AS and A Levels received 157 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards for their outstanding performance.
Speaking on BROCLA 2022, the Country Director, British Council Nigeria, Lucy Pearson, said in a statement made available to Geeky NG, that the British Council in Nigeria was honoured to work with partner schools in offering UK assessments and qualifications in Nigeria in partnership with partners Cambridge University Press and Assessment International Education.
“Across the years, the tests have continued to help people all over the world acquire educational and professional growth, so they are better positioned for success in life and their vocations.
“Education is a critical enabler of these opportunities, and we believe in providing young learners with world-class education and assessments, which we have accomplished through our partners Cambridge University Press and Assessment International Education, as well as the British Council Partner School,” she stated.
Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, who attended the award ceremony, expressed delight to be celebrating with the honorees and to recognise the feat and success of all students who completed the Cambridge tests.
“Today’s prizes reflect the grandeur embodied in our children’s lives.” “We also recognise all of the other recipients in the ‘Top in the World’ category, as well as the partner schools that have displayed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion policies,” she said.
