It was an entertaining combat for dominion between Brazil and Cameroon in the group G fixture of the world cup 2022.
The Cameroon team displayed its prowess as the indomitable lion. They proved to be a formidable match for Brazil, who was a five times winner of the world cup. It was a prideful moment and a feather in the hat for the Cameroonians as they remain the first African country to beat the five-time winner of the world cup (Brazil)
In my opinion, Aboubakar remained the man of the game, despite the red card he obtained for removing his shirt after the goal he scored. He was a great forward man and proved to be one of the strongest players for the Cameroon team.
Gabriel Martinelli was another player who exhibited his expertise on the field during the Brazil-Cameroon match. He attempted a chance at the first goal for Brazil during the game.
Aside from the tight defence pitched by the Cameroonian players, Simon Ngapandouetnbu (Cameroon Goal Keeper) gave a tough time to the Brazil team as he worked hard to thwart every effort of the opposing team to score any goal. He kept the Brazil team at bay with his goal-saving skills.
The Brazil team obtained two yellow cards, given to Éder Militão and Bruno Guimarães. The Cameroon team received three yellow cards, given to Nouhou Tolo, Pierre Kunde, and Collins Fai, earning the Brazil team several opportunities of scoring goals through free-kicks.
Martinelli took the first free-kick, Rodrygo took the second, and Dani Alves took the third in the first half of the game. But I guess the God of soccer was just not on the side of the Brazil team during this particular game.
A few minutes to the end of the match, Vincent Aboubakar came through for his team by scoring the most sought goal ending the game with a goal of Zero to one (0-1).
Unfortunately, the Brazil team knocked the Cameroon team from the tournament despite Cameroon winning the game. The Cameroon team crawled from the poor point two to point four, Making Brazil drop from point seven to six, making them the Brazil team the winner of Group G, followed by Switzerland, both of which are proceeding to the round sixteen groups of the game.
I remember the word of one of my teachers while in school; If you would fail, fail honourably. These words apply to the Cameroon team as they pack their bags to leave the world cup 2022. They will have to take satisfaction in the fact that, though Brazil knocked them off, they didn’t knock them out completely, as they will remain in the history of the world cup as the first African country to win the Brazil team in the world cup.
