Welcome to the third month of the year! How far have you gone?
It is a very known fact that the euphoria of a new year wears off by the end of the first month. And with this euphoria goes new year resolutions, targets and plans.
After all the fuse about doing the right things, making positive changes, improving finances, getting a job, and so on, one finds that by the end of February, you are back to the old you. And all those plans just occupy a tiny space in your diary.
Days turn to weeks and weeks to months and before you know it, you’re making another new year resolution that you most likely may never keep.
It is very easy to make promises. Whether a promise to someone or a promise to ourselves. It is very easy, but difficult to keep those promises. Not because we don’t want to keep those promises or because it is a difficult thing to do. But only because we don’t put enough willpower to help us through those promises.
It is very easy to give up. It doesn’t take any effort at all. But seeing through a particular task or decision is full-time work. To achieve any of those things on your list, you have to see them as full-time work. It’s what you do every day.
It’s what is on your to-do list every morning. It’s part of your everyday life. It’s like breathing. You don’t choose when you breathe or do you? You just do it because it’s what needs to be done.
So, I’m going to ask again. How far along are you? How many of those plans have been set in motion? How many are yielding the needed result? If you can’t answer these questions, then you have a long way to go and a very limited time.
Success is a long and hard road to follow but it is in every way possible. The trick is getting started. In whatever small way you can. Get started! Take those interviews, open that savings account, take that course, go on that date, take that trip. Whatever it is, just get started.
Once you start, it gradually becomes easy to continue. If you have already started and have been getting results, then congratulations! You are on the right path and success is just a stone-throw away!
