The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EDEDC) has explained why power outages are being experienced in parts of its coverage areas.

According to EKEDC, in an update, the affected feeders are Agboju 11kV and Thompson 11kV.

The Abgboju 11kv feeder went out due to a damaged cable. Areas affected include Lagos State Ferry Service, Amuwo Odofin Secondary School, Lagos State Water Cooperation, Lagos State Street and environs.

Thompson 11Kv feeder, on the other hand, was due to a cable fault. Areas affected include Ikoya, Ilado, Ilabere, Falomo Close, Magbon, Macpherson, Ekulo residential Villa, Levenge Energy and environs.

EKEDC appeals to its customers to exercise patience as efforts are ongoing to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Geeky Nigeria reports that Eko Electricity Distribution Plc has been supplying power to the southern part of Lagos State and the Agbara community in Ogun State.

These licensed areas are segmented into 11 districts – Lekki, Ibeju, Islands, Orile, Ijora, Apapa, Mushin, Festac, Ojo, Ajah and Agbara. Receiving between 11 and 15 per cent of the total energy allocation from the national grid, the Company procures bulk electricity from Akangba, Ajah and Ikeja West transmission stations.
