Following the viral video of its student being bullied, the management of Lead British International School has released a press statement.
Geeky Nigeria reports that on Monday Night, an X user, @mooyeeeeeee, posted two videos, seeking justice for a female student and to stop bullying in society.
“There’s a video I’m about to post. I need you guys to help me get justice for (sic). She was bullied in her school by her classmates at Lead British School, Abuja. Pls make it go viral so she can get justice,” the post read.
A bully was seen in one of the videos, repeatedly slapping another female student while asking “Who broke my heart?”.
Also, the victim was seen in another video sitting next to a male classmate who was heard saying “I spoilt her relationship”.
In the press statement issued on Tuesday, the Head of Abuja School, Abraham Ogunkambi said the school management is taking the matter seriously.
According to Ogunkambi, the school has reached out to the victim and her parents to provide support and other counselling services to help cope with the emotional and psychological impact of the incident.
Ogunkambi stated that a panel has been constituted to probe the matter and other allegations of bullying in the school.
“We want to reassure our school community and the public that we are taking all necessary steps to address this isolated incident and prevent recurrence.
“We are committed to ensuring a community of Kindness. respect, and empathy at Lead British International Abuja where every student feels safe, valued, and respected”, he said.
