The Climate Action Africa Forum (CAAF), an annual meeting for global climate leaders and visionaries, is set to be hosted at the Landmark Center Lagos, Nigeria from Wednesday, 19th to Friday, 20th June 2024.
Climate Action Africa Forum is an event convened by Climate Action Africa (CAA). Climate Action Africa fosters climate-resilient communities, innovation, and green growth in Africa.
This work is built on three pillars: Climate literacy, advocacy, and innovation to educate, inspire change, and nurture innovation that will safeguard and enhance the well-being and economic conditions of Africans and their communities.
The Climate Action Africa Forum aims to increase education and awareness on climate change, showcase innovations and projects driving Africa to a sustainable future, and more actively contribute to the expansion of Africa’s green economy.
The forum, grounded in The Nairobi Declaration, concentrates its efforts on engaging the private sector to play a key role in fulfilling commitments and responding to the call to action by building effective partnerships in Africa and with other regions to meet the needs for financial, technical, and technological support and knowledge sharing for climate change adaptation.
Climate Action Africa Forum (CAAF) is in alignment with Climate Action Africa’s mission to foster effective collaborations and create an enabling ecosystem that promotes eco-friendly and sustainable practices in Africa.
The keynote speakers anticipated at the conference are H.E. Ramatoulaye Diallo Ndiaye – Founder and CEO for Great Green Wall of Africa (GGWoA), Tokunbo Wahab – Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State, Salisu Dahiru – Director General National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), Grace Mbah – Executive Director, Climate Action Africa, Olamide Ejorh – Executive Director, Lagos Urban Development Initiative, Titilayo Oshodi – Sp. Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Climate Change, Micheal Ivenso – Public Policy, Climate Change & ESG Advisory.
Launched in 2021, CAA continues to imbibe a culture of eco-conscious sustainable practices that would accelerate its transition to a green economy. Through collective intelligence, innovative strategies, and creating cross-sectional partnerships, it pioneers a transformative change at the intersection of Africa’s resilience restoration and green, sustainable socio-economic development.
The CAAF’24 event thus far has garnered over 1500 participants, a lineup of about 40 sessions and workshops, with over 75 visionary speakers and 12 facilitators.
The CAAF’24 event is sponsored by various organizations including MTN, Momo, NITDA, Coca-Cola, NNPC, Transcorp Hilton, African Development Bank Group, and in partnership with The National Council on Climate Change, and Channels TV amongst others.
