The United Kingdom Embassy in Nigeria has announced significant changes in the management of its visa application centres.
A new supplier is set to take over operations, which may lead to adjustments in the locations where applicants submit and collect their documents.
In a statement released on the embassy’s X (formerly Twitter) account, it was disclosed that some customers may be affected by these changes, specifically in terms of document submission and collection locations.
However, the embassy reassured the public that applicants will receive email notifications if they are impacted, providing specific instructions on how to proceed.
“The supplier of our visa application centres in Nigeria is changing. During this transition, some customers may submit and collect their documents from different locations. You will be contacted via email if this affects you,” the embassy said.
It’s business as usual for the visa application centres in Abuja and Lagos, which remain operational. Applicants are still required to book appointments before visiting these centres.
For the most up-to-date information, applicants are encouraged to visit the official visa application website.
This change is part of a larger shift in commercial partners for UK visa applications outside the UK, with VFS Global replacing TLScontact in various locations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, between September 2024 and January 2025.
Nigeria is among the countries affected by this transition, which occurred on November 19, 2024.
