In a move to expand job opportunities within the education sector, the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has reopened its online recruitment portal.
This portal will be available for applications from Tuesday, July 1 through Monday, July 14, 2025, giving prospective teachers a window to apply for roles in public schools across the state. Speaking on the development, TESCOM’s Head of Public Affairs, Olaoye Olusegun, noted that the reactivation aligns with the government’s commitment to equal opportunity and its broader shift toward digital governance.
TESCOM Chairman, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, described the platform as easy to use and inclusive, featuring tools that help support fair access for all groups, including persons living with disabilities and young jobseekers. She said the initiative supports the state’s vision of inclusive hiring and is a step toward building a more transparent employment system.
The portal serves as a one-stop platform for applicants interested in entry-level teaching roles (Grade Level 08), across various subject areas. Those qualified—particularly degree holders in Education or related fields—are encouraged to apply during the two-week window. Although the portal link has not been shared yet, candidates are expected to complete their applications strictly within the announced period.
This renewed recruitment drive is part of a broader plan to strengthen the state’s teaching workforce by attracting skilled educators and enhancing long-term career development.
With this initiative, TESCOM is not only pushing for fairness and inclusivity but also laying the groundwork for more data-driven decisions in education staffing. Ultimately, the Lagos State government hopes this step will raise the standard of public education by drawing in top teaching talent from across the region.
