The Lagos State Government has introduced a dedicated Career Pavilion at the ongoing Art of Technology (AOT) Lagos 7.0 conference, with the goal of speeding up talent development and equipping Nigerians for future job opportunities.
Unveiled during the two-day tech summit in Lagos, the Pavilion is built to link young professionals, students, and job seekers with industry experts, employers, and training organisations.
According to the organisers, the space will function as a central point for career counselling, mentorship, and skills-matching, especially for those looking to thrive in Nigeria’s rapidly changing digital landscape.
AOT Lagos, held annually by the Lagos State Government in collaboration with Eko Innovation Centre, has grown into a major forum for technology policy discussions, innovation showcases, and the strengthening of the local tech ecosystem.
This year’s edition places special emphasis on workforce readiness, digital transformation, and how technology can drive Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
Officials at the launch explained that the Career Pavilion demonstrates the state’s determination to develop a steady pool of skilled talent capable of filling roles in emerging sectors. The Pavilion will host interactive sessions, recruitment activities, and hands-on workshops designed to provide participants with practical skills and real career pathways.
Organisers added that the initiative supports Lagos State’s wider ambition to cement its status as Africa’s leading digital hub, while tackling unemployment and closing skills gaps among young people. The Pavilion is also expected to deepen collaboration between government, academia, and private sector employers, ensuring that Nigeria’s workforce is better equipped for the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
