Adamawa state has concluded arrangements to resuscitate the abandoned Technical and Vocational Technical Training Centres across Adamawa.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, assured the people of Adamawa during the flag-off of training of 500 youth on small entrepreneurship, held on Monday in Yola.
According to him, the revival of the training centres was aimed at training youth in skills required by manufacturers and industries within and outside the state.
He noted that in line with the youth empowerment programme of his administration, government had earmarked 100 hectares of land in each local government area, to be allocated to youth to display their potentials and talents in various fields of development.
Fintiri said that government is currently creating the enabling environment through youth capacity training, to discourage violent activities.
Mrs Aishatu Bello, the head of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency in the state, said that the beneficiaries of the programme, about 2,000, were divided into four phases, due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
