How to Audition For MTN Y'ello Star Music Reality Show

MTN Nigeria has unveiled the Y’ello Star Music Reality Show.

The show, like the now defunct project fame, is a musical platform created by MTN Nigeria to search for, discover, nurture, expose and launch music talents in young Nigerians.

“We know that there are a lot of talented people in Nigeria who need to turn up their musical careers,” Rahul De, Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria said.

The competition is expected to run til June 2020.

But unlike Project Fame that involves physical auditions, MTN Y’ello Star only requires interested participants to record themselves and upload through MyMYN app or the website.

Guide on Taking Video

Before you can be selected to appear for regional auditions, holding in Abuja, Enugu and Lagos, you must do a video recording of yourself performing a musical act.

If your smartphone does not have good camera resolution, visit a video studio to take at least a 60 seconds video.
If through your smartphone, ensure the file is saved in .mp4 or tell them to save the video in .mp4
In the video studio, request for the .mp4 file of the video, and have it sent to your smartphone and/or flash drive.

Guide on Uploading Video

Before you upload your video, ensure you follow the submission guidelines:

All video submissions must be LIVE recordings of yourself singing any cover song of your choice. No original songs, lip synching, studio recordings or highly edited videos will be accepted.
You may choose to sing acapella or use a live instrument i.e guitar, piano. Do not use backing tracks or instrumentals.
Shoot your video in a bright/well-lit setting. We want to be able to see you.
Do not use auto-tune.
Check your video before submitting it and make sure the audio can be heard clearly.
Submission videos should be no longer than 60 seconds.
Video size should be no more than 150MB.
Only one submission per applicant will be accepted.
