Nasarawa Poly Constructs Ventilator Ahead Of Resumption

The Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa has constructed a ventilator with pulse system capable of detecting and providing life support to COVID-19 patients.

The Rector of the polytechnic, Dr Abbdullahi Ahmed, revealed after the assessment of facilities in the polytechnic to ascertain the level of preparedness for school resumption.

Ahmed disclosed that the school had built a standard isolation centre in preparation for possible outbreak of COVID-19 or any other disease in the school.

He said that the school has invented mechanically operated disinfectant tunnel, mass produced sanitiser, face masks and hand washing machine in line with the COVID-19 pandemic protocols.

He restated the institution’s commitment to prioritise the safety of the students upon resumption.

“We have mass produced hand washing machines with special features to dispense hand sanitiser, built a standard isolation centre in readiness of an outbreak of COVID-19 or any other disease in the school,” he said.

Ahmed noted that the mass production of accessories needed to curtail the spread of the dreaded diseases especially COVID-19 pandemic would be distributed to classes and various departments.

The rector lauded President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Education and the Governing Council for the support given to the institution to succeed.
