The staff at National Health Service (NHS) are using Microsoft teams to get coronavirus test results directly to their phone.
Microsoft Teams is a platform for team collaboration that combines workplace chat, video meetings, application integration, and more.
By embracing technology, the NHS staff, comprising of doctors, nurses, and specialists, at University Hospital Southampton, are starting to utilise their mobile phones to receive coronavirus test results, due to a bot in Microsoft teams.
The development has accelerated the time it would take to discover traces of the virus in a person from hours to minutes.
According to Dr Ashwin Pinto, a neurologist at the hospital, Doctors and Nurses are able to get real time data, which can come up on their phones instantly as they are released by the lab.
“We can now give doctors and nurses real-time data. I can get COVID-19 results, which come up on my phone instantly as soon as they are released by the lab.
“We can know where that patient is, so we can make sure they go to the right care environment and that staff are safe as well. That’s been transformational.”, he said.
The bot used in Microsoft teams was created by Medxnote, a microsoft partner.
Healthcare staff utilise Microsoft teams to communicate and share information anytime, even when they are out of the hospital. Doctors and nurses, as well utilise teams to alert colleagues instantly should their presence be needed.
