Fidelity Bank Plc has donated some Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) to healthcare workers in Ogun, so as to boost the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
The Bank’s South-West Regional Head, Mr Adebayo Adeyinka, made the donation to officials of the Ministry of Health, Abeokuta in Ogun.
The PPE items included 10 cartoons of groves and five cartoons of face masks.
Adeyinka noted that the donation was part of the bank’s support in the to fight against the spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the state.
According to him, no fewer than 12 states have benefited from the bank’s donation in the fight against the containment of the spread of the virus..
“The bank has also done it at the national level because there is the need for collective efforts to fight the scourge.
” And we are also reaching out to the states and Ogun is one of the state where we are reaching out to show that we are together in fighting the virus, “he said.
Adeyinka said that the donation was part of the bank’s gesture of giving back to the society, saying the bank’s gesture was to complement the state’s efforts in fighting the COVID-19.
Adeyinka noted that he was hopeful that the PPE would help those in the frontier of fighting the pandemic.
Mr Femi Ogunbanwo, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Ogun, commended the bank for the good gesture and promised that the items would be effectively utilized for the purpose they were donated for.
