SS3 students in Okota-Isolo schools are in preparation to write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination on Aug. 17.
This follows the mandatory compliance with Covid-19 rules before entering their school premises.
In its bid to ensure compliance of schools, Lagos State Government had sent a circular to all schools to maintain all protocols and guidelines for keeping students safe.
Schools in Okota-Isolo were observed following the instructions as laid down by the Ministry of Education in keeping safe.
The schools were also ensuring that students could only gain entrance into school premises with their face mask on and a proper check of their temperature and were made to wash their hands and make use of the hand sanitizers.
Also, visitors were not allowed to enter the school premises which was also a directive as laid down by the state government.
In a recent development, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, took a tour of some public and private Schools at Education District IV around Yaba, Surulere and Apapa axis.
She said that the State Government was very concerned about the safety of students and their teachers, and stressed that their well being is of utmost importance.
“Asides my visitations to schools, the permanent secretary of the ministry, tutor generals, permanent secretaries of the six education districts, office of education quality assurance are also on field across the state.
“The aim is to ensure that maximum compliance and coordination is achieved,’’ she said.
The Commissioner noted that the inspection tour will continue till all Schools were covered.
She, however warned that any school accommodating other students apart from SS3 and TEC3 contrary to the state government’s directive will face disciplinary action.

“The resumption became necessary for the students to write WASSCE examinations and we encourage them to put in their best in the forthcoming exams,” she said
