Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, has preparations underway to unveil its “Yaba Art Museum” to the public.
Ndubueze Ejiofor, Head of Public Affairs, Yabatech revealed in a press release on Tuesday in Lagos.
According to the statement, the ceremony is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at Yusuf Grillo Auditorium by 10 a.m.
Special guests of honour include Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile – Yusuf, Lagos Commissioner for Tourism, Art & Culture and Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, Regional Director, Ford Foundation, West Africa.
The museum is a project supported by Ford Foundation, and it is housed inside the basement of Yabatech School of Art, Design and Printing, reputed to be the oldest Art School in Nigeria.
The statement also revealed that the school over the years has served as socio-cultural hub for students and teachers of art alike.
“All in the Eye”, an accompanying exhibition, will also feature as part of the ceremony.
Aside from the unveiling of the museum, other key features at the ceremony include the presentation and launch of a YCT Policy on Sexual Harassment and Gender Based Violence.
