Infertility is significantly a massive challenge in some homes all over the world, but the severity is high, if the couple is of African descent or background.
The beauty of the millions of cultures and tribes all over the African continent is unmatched. Huge number of deities are reverenced, with jaw-dropping norms and folkways.
The colourful and envious culture on world-stage display is trailed by some non-scientific and, at times, bizarre beliefs. As a result, fertility is a big marital topic and can progress or end many African homes.
Inability to conceive is sometimes believed to occur by diabolical Influences, mostly borne out of hatred, jealousy or envy.

Definition Of Fibroid
Fibroid is a type of benign tumour of the uterus. It is clinically referred to as Leiomyoma
Though benign, which means it is not an aggressive or extremely dangerous tumor, it is a cause for concern, due to the fact that it is a gynecological problem with high rate of hospitalization.
In women between 30-40 years of age, It is the commonest benign tumour.
Risk Factors For Fibroid
- Being a black, basically, being African.
- Between ages 30 and 40. When the woman is able/supposed to be sexually active and able to reproduce
- Being overweight. Obesity is an all-round risk factor for majority of medical conditions.
- Not giving birth
- Smoking Diet. It has been observed that beef increases risk for fibroid formation
- Early menstrual debut. This increases the period of exposure to hormones that can cause fibroid.
- Sedentary lifestyle. Regular exercise or engagement in activities is great gain, even for fertility issues.
Prevention Of Fibroid
The risk factors above include modifiable and non-modifiable factors.
Modifiable factors are encouraged to curb and regulate the severity of non-modifiable ones.
Eat healthy so as not to be overweight, be encouraged to carryout regular exercises and quit smoking.
Conclusion
Fibroid, depending on the size and location within the uterus can require surgery. If the modifiable factors above are adjusted, they will discourage the non-modifiable.
