It is common belief that anyone who gets to government automatically gets a ticket to corruption.
This alone shows how terrible the perception of leadership has become. It is a reality we have come to believe with time. Hope for a better and refined leadership structure seems to shatter day after day.
Watching the situation dwindle before our sight becomes more painful. We can barely trust the leaders we have now, because when we did; over and again, our hopes were dashed.

Develop A Subconscious Integrity System
Many people believe that the system must influence our decisions and lifestyle. You can avoid this influence by developing an integrity system wherever you are and with whatever positions you handle.
Don’t be tempted to take something that doesn’t belong to you because no one will ask. Intentionally do the right things.
Sign the correct time you get to work, stay on the queue and don’t be tempted to jump it, even if you know someone who can help you do so. Be punctual to meetings and appointments with people. Let people trust you with their money and time. It is true that if you are faithful in little, you will be faithful in more.
Learn To Be Accountable
Many have misunderstood accountability for inferiority, whereas the reverse is actually the case.
When you are entrusted with a duty, or with money, you must give account of it to the people who gave the duty to you; whether it is demanded or not.
This helps build your integrity and prevents you from further accusations. People normally say “A clean and pure hand, fears no accusation”.
Imagine how easy it would be to trust leaders who account for the money; they spend even when they are not told to. Recall the joy that comes to your heart when someone brings back some change for you with credible explanation when you don’t expect it.
This is the same way the people who entrust things to our hands should feel about us.
Create Personal Check Methods For Yourself
Ensure that there are one or two persons who have authority over you, to correct and call you to order. Don’t ever rise to a level where you are above correction.
This may not be pleasing, but is very essential. He who isn’t corrected may walk with open eyes along the wrong path. Pride has not stopped going before a fall.
Be humble enough to submit to leaders and authorities who will also help you grow.
Call People To Order
Finally and very importantly, if you are responsible for people, call them to order when they err. Let no evil linger under your watch.
People say that if you don’t kill a serpent when you find it, it may soon become a python and kill you. This will help them become better people.
The roles we have to play will first help us, help the people around us, and help build the nation at large.
