8 Eco-Friendly Christmas Wrapping Alternatives

It’s the holiday season, and millions of tons of gift-wrap, would be used in wrapping gift items for our families and friends.

Christmas is here again, the streets are already filled with fairy lights, and aesthetic Christmas decorations, which entails the spirit of Christmas.

From anywhere in the world, you could smell Christmas in the air.

Now, for each one of us back at home, and to our families, this Christmas brings togetherness, food, and presents.

Talking about presents, we usually accept gifts from loved ones and we in turn like to give gifts, there’s love in sharing.

But then, Christmas brings a lot of waste (the gift wrappers that are tossed in the bin, on Christmas morning).

It is a full house everywhere, with hot red tomato stews cooking up, with Turkey and chicken fried as well ( Nigerians don’t joke with their proteins).  Not to mention, the almighty delicious “Nigerian Jollof”.

While we are all planning to eat, have a lot of fun and spend great quality time with the family, we have to be less wasteful and more concerned about our environment.

1. Reusable gift bags: A lot of us have a lot of these reusable gift/ souvenir bags in our homes. These bags are a brilliant way to skip the wrapping papers. They are an elegant way to gift someone a present. A lot of them come in nice beautiful designs that make your gift bag stand out and they can be used again. (very economical).
2. Jar or bottles: These are exotic ways to gift that would leave a lasting impression on your receiver. If you’re feeling fancy and creative you can create a one-of-a-kind beautiful gift jar or tin, using glitters, brightly colored paints, small photos, hand-drawn pictures, and handwritten notes.
