Does time need to stop so I could learn how to manage it?
It was a warm afternoon, I decided to check through the videos on the phone; then I stumbled on a video that was recorded long time ago in school.
Listening and listening! I had to take a deep pause to digest the visual and audio content. It was a quote that said, “one man achieves the week’s work in a year and a year’s work in a week”.
Now, let’s take a moment to think about these men. They were both working, putting lots of effort, burning the midnight candles, studying, reading and attending seminars.
A little ponder, one would want to ask? What is the defining line? Could it be time management? Yes!
Time is the duration in which all things happen, or a precise instant that something happens. It is also the continued sequence of existence and events that occurs in an apparently succession from the past, through the present into the future.
Time could be described as the equal opportunity given to everyone from man’s first cry to final breathe. Time is an asset to be utilised with great care and value. It’s a gift that allows for growth and progress.
How can we utilize time which is important to productivity? A practical example on how to utilise time is to create time block.
Time block is a planning method that divides the day into smaller blocks of time. This life principle could be used to ensure productivity thereby reducing procrastination.
How To Manage Your Time
- Identify your energy cycle: This highlights when best you are most productive. It refers to the body natural rhythms during the day. When your body energy is vibrant, you’re capable of focusing deeply and getting a lot accomplished. Does the early morning work best? Or afternoon? Or Midnight? It’s always best to identify your energy cycles and utilize them for productivity.
- Prioritize: Starting from the most urgent, important to the less demanding task. Prioritizing your daily tasks brings clarity and transparency in how your time would be spent.
- Time Block: Everything, task has its time. Time blocking can be done in the early hours of the morning. Technology makes it easier with the creation of apps such as; Susama, Hourstack and Ticktick premium. The day would be highly productive.
