The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has announced a power outage on the Ihama 11Kv Line, caused by heavy rainstorm on Monday, 18th April, 2022.
According to BEDC, parts of Ihama, Benoni, Imuetiyan, Gapiona, and Airport Road are experiencing power outage as a result of technical difficulties that led to the trippings on the feeder.
BEDC’s management, in a statement, signed on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, acknowledged the present power outage and assured that its engineers will continue to work and resolve the technical difficulties.
“The management of BEDC Plc wishes to inform its esteemed customers in parts of Ihama, Benoni, Imuetiyan, Gapiona, Airport Road and environs currently experiencing power outage, that this is due to technical challenges which led to trippings on the feeder occasioned by heavy rainstorm on Monday, 18th April, 2022.
“While we apologize for any inconvenience occasioned by the outage, especially in light of recent disruptions in the mentioned areas, we implore all affected customers to bear with us while our engineers continue to work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” the statement read.
Geeky Nigeria reports that rainy season is usually accompanied by power outages due to heavy rainstorm, and displacement of wires by strong winds, not to mention the collapse of electric poles and transmission towers.
