The “Link Error” on Mojec prepaid meter is one of the common errors users of Mojec may encounter while using the prepaid meter in Nigeria.
Electricity Distribution Companies in Nigeria such as Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and Ikeja Electric (IE) have different procedures for resolving the “Link Error” on Meter.
If you are trying to load your credit token and you are getting “Link Error”, Kindly follow the instructions below:
- Ensure CIU is powered with DURACELL battery.
- Plug the CIU to power supply(not generator or inverter).
- Ensure its within proximity to the meter.
- Ensure CIU is paired with the meter.
To pair the meter, kindly type 525817005382 on the CIU and press enter, after which you can input the token purchased.
If the above does not work, you will need to marry your Customer Interface Unit (CIU) with the prepaid meter. Please, note the number combinations and commands on the right-hand side of the keypad.
Press 10 to check your meter number or 01 for the current available credit. If your meter number or current available credit does not show.
Please extract and press the below number combinations. This process is known as “marrying” the Customer Interface Unit
with the meter.
5258 + 5th digit to 12th digit of meter number.
Input: 5258 + (0101)15007104(7) + Enter (the blue button)
i.e. (525815007104 and Press Enter) for 01011 meters.
Input: 1593570 + Meter Number + Enter (the blue button)
i.e. (159357054130175653 and Press Enter) for 541 meters.
Exclude the digits in brackets i.e. first four digits (0101) and the 13th digit (7)
The feedback response on the meter will be “Accepted”.
Please make sure this is done when there is a power supply in your neighbourhood and inside the apartment where the meter is installed.
If the error persists, note your meter number, phone number, and account number, then contact your electricity distribution company.
