The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IE) has introduced a mobile application called “i-Safe”, which users within IE coverage areas can use to submit reports on safety issues.
As the rainy season is on us, safety issues may arise from heavy downpour, such as disconnection of cables, loose wires, fallen poles, etc. In some cases, these could lead to an unfortunate electrocution.
According to Ikeja Electric, i-SAFE is a mobile application that can used by anyone within the Ikeja Electric network to report identified network safety hazards in realtime. To use, simply capture clear images of the identified hazard and submit. Submissions remain trackable until they are closed out.
The purpose of the app is to enable IE achieve zero harm to everyone within their network.
The i-Safe app is also lightweight (less than 5mb), so there shouldn’t be a strain on the phones available resources.
Although, it is only available for Android users for now.
