The British Council is awarding £3,000 for the IELTS Prize 2022 edition.
The Council awards the IELTS Prize to individuals of high-calibre who demonstrate the motivation to develop their career, as well as the potential to contribute to society what they have gained from their undergraduate or postgraduate study experience.
The Prize also enables students to study any chosen course in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme of a higher education institution, anywhere in the world, that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements.
According to the British Council, the IELTS prize is for applicants who aim at starting their placement in academic year 2023/2024, and is currently available in Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. £3,000 is awarded to 7 winners in each of the 7 countries.
To apply for the prize, you are to complete the IELTS Prize online application form and submit it together with uploaded copies of your: British Council IELTS Test Report Form, Recent passport size photograph, and Passport or identification document proving your residency in one of the eligible countries. If you have any special requirements certificate, you can also include it.
To be eligible for the prize, you must be a resident in one of the following countries: Bangladesh, Canada, Colombia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa (except applicants in Canada), and must have begun undergraduate or postgraduate studies in academic year 2023/2024.
Additionally, you must have attended a higher educational institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements and register for an IELTS test with the British Council between 1 September 2021 and 15 September 2022 with a minimum overall band score of 5.5 or higher.
Note that deadline for applications is September 30, 2022 – 11:59 GMT.
