ClimateScience is calling for applications for its 2023 Olympiad student competition to find solutions to climate change.
The competition allows students to represent their country in the largest climate olympiad in the world. In the 2022 edition of ClimateScience Olympiad, over 55,000 students participated from over 190 countries.
Geeky Nigeria reports that ClimateScience is a science-based organization and a movement for people wanting to learn how to take better climate action. It is based in UK, and led by hundreds of driven volunteers from 30 countries and a small team of staff. They aim to make learning engaging, accessible, and reliable.
For the reward, a total of USD 15,000 provided by ClimateScience, will be split among winners. The first place gets USD 5,000, the second place receives USD 3,000, and the third place gets USD 2,000. Places 4-6 will be awarded USD 1,000 each and places 7-10 will be awarded USD 500 each.
In addition to the prize money, the top 3 teams may get a chance to present their solutions at the United Nations Climate Summit in Cairo, Egypt.
