The Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) is calling for nominations for the 2024 edition of the prestigious AWIEF Awards, which recognise, honour and celebrate women founders and entrepreneurs in Africa.
Nominees for the AWIEF Awards should be emerging and established female entrepreneurs who have demonstrated outstanding vision, leadership, innovation, and business success in their areas of operation.
The 2024 AWIEF Awards winners will be announced and celebrated at a special awards ceremony and gala dinner on 29 November 2024.
This ceremony will mark the conclusion of the AWIEF2024 conference, which is scheduled to take place on 28 and 29 November 2024 at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.
Entries for the AWIEF Awards can be made in the following 8 categories.
Young Entrepreneur Award
Nominees must be young female founders, co-founders or leaders of business ventures, between 18 and 35 years old, who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial initiative and leadership skills to build and grow successful and sustainable enterprises.
They must have achieved tangible and material success (revenue and number of employees can indicate this).
Tech Entrepreneur Award
Nominees should be female founders, co-founders, or leaders of successful technology-driven business ventures or startups. They should have demonstrated innovation and creativity in leveraging technology to address challenges or opportunities in their industry or community.
Additionally, they should have achieved significant impact and scalability with their technology ventures, including reaching a wide audience, generating substantial revenue, or disrupting traditional industries.
Agri Entrepreneur Award
Nominees should be founders, co-founders, or leaders who have achieved substantial business success and recognition within the agriculture and agribusiness value chain, with tangible evidence of traction and impact on food security and/or the environment. Additionally, nominees should have demonstrated innovation, creativity, and a commitment to community development and empowerment through their agricultural activities.
Creative Industry Award
Nominees should be women entrepreneurs who have excelled in the film, music, entertainment, beauty, arts, fashion, media, advertising, design and crafts industries through leadership, innovation, and artistic excellence.
Nominees must demonstrate significant business success, cultural impact, and a commitment to social engagement and community empowerment.
Empowerment Award
Nominees should be women who have shown exceptional leadership and impact in inspiring, mentoring and empowering others, especially women and girls, in their community.
Nominees should have a track record of advocacy, program development, and community engagement, showcasing innovation, sustainability, and measurable results in their efforts.
Recognition and awards received for their empowerment initiatives further validate their credibility and effectiveness in this field.
Energy Entrepreneur Award
Nominees should be female entrepreneurs in the oil & gas, green and smart solutions, and renewable energy sectors, who are operating successful businesses with an impact on energy access in their communities and countries.
Social Entrepreneur Award
Nominees should be female entrepreneurs who have developed an innovative and sustainable solution that directly tackles a social issue, thereby having a transformative social impact on their communities and countries.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominees should be established women entrepreneurs and role models who have made significant and enduring contributions over their business career, across multiple areas or disciplines.
They should have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and innovation throughout their professional journey, leaving a profound and lasting mark on their field.

- Click submit.
