In collaboration with a global real-time payment software company, ACI Worldwide, Interswitch, a leading integrated payment and digital commerce company in Africa, hosted a customer engagement event in Lagos, Nigeria.
The recently held event was focused on boosting digital payments while exploring innovative solutions and strategies to reshape the African payment landscape.
The event’s theme Modernizing Digital Payment Infrastructure for Renovation, Growth, and Commercial Advantage, underscored the modernization of payments infrastructure, aimed at improving the African digital payment system.
For over 20 years, Interswitch has consolidated its partnership with ACI worldwide to offer innovative products and services in Nigeria, and across Africa, where significant growth, revolution in digital payments, and a greater increase in digitization is expected.
According to Interswitch group, this strategic partnership will enable banks, fintech and other financial institutions in the region to progressively transform and modernise their payments infrastructure through ACI’s revolutionary Enterprise Payments Platform.
The Founder and Group Managing Director of Interswitch Group, Mitchell Elegbe, while discussing the strategic partnership with ACI worldwide in the African payment system emphasized the significance of the collaboration over the years.
“This collaboration has driven significant advancements in payment technology, streamlining processes, enhancing security, and fostering economic growth while promoting financial inclusion across the country” he noted.
He expressed that the renewed partnership is anchored to unlock new markets and to bridge the gap that exists for payment infrastructures.

Speaking on the commitment and role of ACI in Africa’s financial sector, the Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region, Santosh Rao expressed the vision of ACI as “empowering institutions with cutting-edge technologies that enhance operational efficiency, deepen financial inclusion, and elevate customer experiences”.
He emphasised the aim of the company to “catalyze digital transformation and propel Africa’s financial landscape forward”.
The annual event was attended by industry experts and top-level executives from both companies and other financial corporations across Africa.
The similar vision and commitment shared by both corporations for the past two decades centres on driving digital transformation via the implementation of cutting-edge infrastructure and solutions to optimize business efficiency, drive stakeholder partnerships and boost the payment landscape across Africa.
