The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has clarified that the new WASSCE (PC1) resit examination does not apply to Nigerian candidates.
This announcement was made on Wednesday on its X handle, putting to rest circulating rumors about the exam.
Instead, Nigerian candidates with outstanding grades can register for the WASSCE (PC1) 2025, which will commence soon.
The WASSCE (PC1) exam program provides students with the opportunity to retake failed subjects from previous West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
WAEC Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, introduced the PC1 program on Sunday during an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show.
According to Kapi, the WASSCE PC1 exams are scheduled to take place from January 24 to February 15, 2025.
Kapi emphasized that this program offers a faster route for students to improve their grades. Eligible students have until January 8 to register online through the WAEC website or at accredited internet cafés.
The exams will then be held from January 24 to February 15, 2025.
