Adobe has officially launched a mobile version of Photoshop, making the popular design software available for iPhone users. The company has also confirmed that an Android version is in development and will be released later this year.

The mobile app offers a range of features, including both free and premium options. Users can edit images using tools similar to those found in the desktop version, such as layering and masking. The app has a user-friendly interface and integrates with Photoshop on the web for premium subscribers.

Existing Photoshop subscribers will have access to the mobile version at no additional cost. The premium plan costs $7.99 per month and offers advanced features such as object selection, magic wand, and content-aware fill. Free users can access AI-powered features like spot healing brush, tap select, and generative AI tools.

According to Shambhavi Kadam, senior director of Product Management at Adobe Photoshop, the company spent time talking to creatives and creators to understand their unique use cases on mobile devices. The feedback was used to build a product that works well for mobile users.

The introduction of Photoshop for iPhone places Adobe in direct competition with popular mobile editing apps. However, it also benefits existing Photoshop users by enabling seamless editing across devices. With the increasing demand for creative tools that work on the go, Adobe’s expansion ensures that users have access to professional-grade editing tools without being tied to a desktop setup.

Photoshop for iPhone is now available for download on the Apple App Store.
