JAMB Shifts 2025 Mock UTME To April 10

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a change in the date for the 2025 mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Initially scheduled for Saturday, April 5, the mock exam will now take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025.

This adjustment aims to finalize preparations, implement new innovations, and accommodate the increased number of examination centers for this year’s exercise.

The decision to reschedule the mock exam aligns with global best practices and recent research on examination methodologies in the region. JAMB has advised candidates to await further announcements on the printing of their mock notification slip, which will contain details of their examination center.

The main UT organisation will commence on April 25, 2025.

In addition to the date change, JAMB has introduced a trial-testing mock examination for underage candidates. As part of this initiative, any candidate who will not be 16 years old as of September 30, 2025, will not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME.

This move comes as JAMB seeks to appeal a landmark ruling that nullified its minimum age policy around tertiary school admissions.
