The Aurora Tech Award, in collaboration with The Nest Innovation Technology Park, has unveiled Foundry for HER Bootcamp—a three-day, fully virtual accelerator built specifically for early-stage, women-led tech startups in Nigeria.
Scheduled for October 15–17, 2025, the program focuses on practical execution: hands-on tools, expert mentorship, and investor readiness designed to help founders scale—and to position participants for the Aurora Tech Award Open Call 2026.
Applications are open September 8 to October 3, 2025. The cohort will train 120 early-stage women founders through intensive sessions on pitching, fundraising, and expanding beyond local markets, led by top ecosystem operators and investors.
Eligibility: Women founders or team leads of Nigeria-based startups under five years old, where the startup is founded or co-founded by a woman. If that’s you, apply now via the link.
Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most dynamic startup hubs, yet women continue to face barriers to capital and visibility. By partnering with The Nest Innovation Technology Park—a Lagos center for entrepreneurial activity—the Aurora Tech Award is extending critical access to knowledge, networks, and opportunities that enable long-term growth.

Isabella Ghassemi-Smith, head of the Aurora Tech Award, noted that the initiative is built to fast-track ambitious women founders. She highlighted Nigeria’s strong track record—with recent winners—adding that Foundry for HER will deepen support by providing the tools, connections, and visibility needed to scale and compete globally.
Nigerian founders have secured the Aurora Tech Award for two consecutive years: Folake Owodunni of Emergency Response Africa (2024) and Solape Akinpelu, Co-Founder and CEO of HerVest (2025). Their wins underscore the global stature of Nigeria’s women-led startups and inspire the next generation of leaders.
Reflecting on her experience, Solape Akinpelu emphasized that the award is more than a badge of honor—it’s entry into a community that champions women shaping the future of tech. She said the recognition belongs to every woman who chooses to dream, build, and lead, and she is proud to stand with founders creating high-growth companies that open doors for others.
