Currently, four clubs in the race for the European Championship are: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Bayern’s High Press, Atlético Madrid and Arsenal.
Atlético Madrid was the first team to secure its semi-final position after knocking out Barcelona FC. Barcelona played a ten-man game after Eric Garcy received a red card. Atlético Madrid had won 2-0 at Camp Nou but lost 2-1 at home. However, Colchoneros won 3-2 on aggregate, defeating Barcelona FC and advancing to the semi-finals. Despite their second-leg loss, this first-leg victory was an advantage. The ‘Colchoneros’ (Atlético Madrid) are just two wins away from making it to the final again, a decade after their last title. They’re looking for revenge after losing to Real Madrid in the 2014 and 2016 finals.
This was followed by Paris Saint-Germain.
This club defeated Liverpool with a 2-0 home and away- a culmination of a 4–0 win. Two goals from Ousmane Dembélé at Anfield, one from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and one from Désiré Doué were the scores that led Paris Saint-Germain to their 4–0 aggregate win. Liverpool did not record a single shot on target.
Bayern Munich confirmed qualification after a tie with Real Madrid. The match at Allianz Arena was a thriller. Real Madrid had taken the lead three times. In fact, before the end of the first half, five goals were scored from both sides. However, Bayern Munich had beaten their opponents 2-1 in Spain. Then in Germany, after a tough competition, they won 4-3 over their opponents.
This 6-4 aggregate secured their place in the Champions League semi-finals. In this dramatic win over Real Madrid, Harry Kane hit his 50-goal mark for this season.
Arsenal defeated Sporting CP by a 1-0 aggregate score to qualify for the semi-finals. For Arsenal, it wasn’t just a win. It was setting new records. It was the first time they made it to UCL’s semi-finals in back-to-back seasons in their 140-year history. That was also the club’s fourth time qualifying for the finals. In the first leg which was on 7th April, the Gunners secured a 1-0 win from Kai Havertz. The second leg was a goalless draw. Arsenal is the only unbeaten team in the game.

Semi-final Match-up and Schedule
According to www.barcablaugranes.com Atlético will now go on to play Arsenal for a place in the final, with PSG up against Bayern Munich in the other semi-final clash.
The first legs of the semi-finals will be played on 28th and 29th April. The second legs are scheduled for 5th and 6th May (according to All Football).

With first and second legs scheduled across late April and early May, the semi-finals promise intensity, and brilliance. Each club has just two chances to create history. All teams are two matches away from the final, where history and ambition converge. As the competition reaches its climax, the stakes are highest and the margin for error narrows. The competition is now at a decisive stage where every single play counts. The 2026 UEFA Champions League final battle will take place on 30th May at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
