Femi topped Bron Breakker by disqualification in the show’s true showcase bout, only for a returning Bronson Reed to crash the finish and leave the Lagos-born star reeling under a chair shot and three Tsunamis. Nigerian wrestling fans, already invested in Femi’s rise, had every reason to celebrate another headline moment for their man.

Paul Heyman had billed the match as a fight for the future of WWE, and both men delivered on that promise inside Breakker’s own hometown arena.

Elsewhere on the card, Trick Williams reclaimed the United States Championship, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton renewed their WrestleMania rivalry, and a six-woman tag descended into chaos. However, none of it matched the intensity or the storyline stakes of Femi’s clash with Breakker.

That post-match beatdown carried real weight beyond the result itself. Reed’s return signals that The Vision, the villainous faction built around Breakker, still views Femi as a threat worth eliminating by any means necessary. Oba Femi Overcomes Interference to Beat Bron Breakker

Femi and Breakker traded big moments throughout their first ever singles encounter, and the bout graded out at a B+, among the highest marks on Bleacher Report’s live coverage of the entire card. Breakker flew off the apron early to send both men crashing over the announce table, then spent much of the middle portion berating Femi and openly questioning why fans consider him the future of the company.

That taunting backfired. A release German suplex sparked Femi into life, and he answered with a vicious clothesline before tossing Austin Theory through a second announce table when Breakker’s ally attempted to interfere. Breakker still found something extra, landing two rib-cracking spears, yet Femi refused to stay down. Anyone watching could hear one particular chop from Femi ring out like a rifle shot, and it summed up the physicality of the entire match perfectly.

Heyman grew increasingly close to Femi following his SummerSlam win, and that shift clearly irritated Breakker, who once held the “future of WWE” tag for himself. A tense face-off on Raw eventually led Heyman to book Sunday’s clash in Breakker’s own hometown, and Breakker’s frustration boiled over once Heyman shook Femi’s hand as well as his own.

The Rest Of The Card Still Delivered In Atlanta

Although Femi and Breakker headlined the night, the undercard offered plenty of drama in its own right. Trick Williams regained the United States Championship from Baron Corbin in a hard-hitting rematch, while rapper Lil Yachty survived a five-minute gauntlet against Corbin beforehand to earn Williams his shot in the first place.

·       Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab defeated Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley.

·       Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes in their WrestleMania 42 rematch.

Orton and Rhodes closed the show with a bitter, personal battle that spilt into the crowd before Orton eventually stole the win with a low blow followed by an RKO. Meanwhile, the six-woman tag broke down late, with Jade Cargill capitalising on miscommunication to hit Jaded on Charlotte Flair for the win.

Femi’s Growing Résumé Points Toward World Title Gold

Femi’s résumé already reads impressively for a star still building his main roster legacy. He owns the longest recognised NXT North American Championship reign in history at 272 days, added the 2026 King of the Ring crown, and stunned Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam before Lesnar’s subsequent retirement announcement. A disqualification finish will not add another shiny result to that list, but it does keep Femi firmly planted in the main event picture heading forward.

Nigerian fans following his rise have every reason to stay tuned. With Heyman openly backing him and a physical rivalry against Breakker and Reed still simmering, Femi looks destined for a genuine world title opportunity sooner rather than later.
