Ordinary People episode 7 finally explains who Dare Laguda is and why he has been spying on his neighbours: he is hunting Tornado, the man who killed his twin brother. After six episodes of Dare watching everybody else, this is the story that turns the investigator into the one being investigated, and it is really not what I expected!
Remember Dare, the tech bro who spends his nights hacking into his neighbours' cameras and monitoring their private lives? The man who seemed a little too interested in what everybody was doing behind closed doors? Well, the episode finally answers the question we have been asking since the beginning: who exactly is this guy?
Dare's surveillance room in Ordinary People episode 7
The episode opens with the undercover agents discovering Dare's little surveillance room, and suddenly, his suspicious behaviour starts to make a lot more sense. This is not just a curious neighbour with expensive technology and too much free time. Dare have his own mission, and it is personal.
And then comes the backstory.
Dare's life is rooted in tragedy. The man has been carrying the pain of losing his twin brother, who was killed by Tornado during a kidnapping involving foreign expatriates in Port Harcourt.
The flashback that now means more
Now, remember that earlier episode in which armed men attacked a group of foreign hostages? I initially wondered whether the man who was shot was a bodyguard, but the connection to Dare's family makes that flashback much more significant. The tragedy we saw was not just another violent incident in Tornado's criminal history. It was the beginning of Dare's personal vendetta.
Imagine losing your twin brother in such circumstances and then discovering that the man responsible is living behind the gates of an estate, pretending to be an ordinary neighbour. Would you simply move on?
Suddenly, Dare's obsession with Tornado makes sense. His surveillance is not merely about satisfying his curiosity. He has been watching, gathering information and waiting for an opportunity to confront the man who destroyed his family.
Why Dare's methods are still questionable
But that does not make his methods any less questionable. While Dare has been busy investigating his neighbours, he has also been invading their privacy and uncovering secrets that could put several lives at risk.
Meanwhile, Jonas and Luka are preparing for a final showdown that promises to bring the estate's tangled secrets to a head. With so many unresolved debts and dangerous histories colliding, Dare's personal mission may be only one part of the chaos about to unfold.
What the episode changes about Dare
Ordinary People episode 7 changes how we see Dare. For six episodes, he has been the man watching everybody else. Now we finally understand that he has been carrying his own pain and pursuing his own form of justice all along.
The question is:
- Will revenge give him the closure he wants? Or
- Will it turn him into another person consumed by the very darkness he has been chasing?
One thing is certain: Mirage Estate has never been short of secrets, but Dare's secret for personal vendetta may be among the most interesting of them all.
Have you watched the episode? Now that we know why Dare is after Tornado, do you think he deserves his revenge, or has his mission gone too far?
