Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye says Bimbo Ademoye consistency has built her an audience that turns up for her name alone, without established actors in the cast. For Nigerian creators facing rising production costs, her account of self-funded, YouTube-first filmmaking offers a clear if demanding lesson.
According to OsunDefender, Ademoye made the remarks while reflecting on her filmmaking journey. She said her determination to keep producing quality content, despite rising costs and criticism, had gradually paid off.

Spending that drew questions
Ademoye recalled putting heavy money into her projects at a time when some viewers questioned her spending. She said the results eventually justified those efforts.
The point matters for anyone weighing whether to cut corners on production. Her argument is that sustained investment in quality, repeated release after release, is what turned a name into a draw.
She did not frame the rewards as overnight. The phrase she kept returning to was consistency, and she tied it directly to the position she holds today.
The numbers she cited
The actress disclosed that one of her movies reportedly garnered 21 million views. Another recent production, she said, recorded five million views within 24 hours of release.
Those figures are her own and were reported as such. They sit alongside independent coverage of her comedy Sibe. The Culture Custodian reported that the film crossed one million YouTube views in under 24 hours and later passed six million, making it one of Nollywood's biggest YouTube releases of the year.
The same outlet describes Sibe as following a young woman whose efforts to fix her life keep failing. Convinced she must be cursed, she turns to prayer and is assigned a guardian angel. Ademoye wrote the film and acted in it.
Why Bimbo Ademoye consistency matters to creators
Ademoye said she no longer has to lean on recognisable faces to win clicks on her channel. In her words:
"They are watching because it’s a Bimbo movie, not because of the people in it," she said.
That is a notable claim in an industry where casting well-known actors is a common route to attention. Her case suggests a trusted brand can do the same work, provided the audience keeps getting what it expects.
The Culture Custodian makes a similar argument, saying her greatest endorsement may simply be audience trust, with viewers clicking on her films expecting laughter. Her comedy work has also earned formal recognition: the outlet notes she won the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in Selina.
A recent drama on her own channel
Her catalogue is not limited to comedy. Premium Times reported that Mirrors and Reflections, a psychological family drama, was released on 3 April 2026 exclusively on Bimbo Ademoye TV on YouTube. She plays identical twins in the film.
The film was produced under her outfit, A3 Studios. Premium Times said it could be her best production yet, because it goes beyond her conventional love story.
Keeping releases on her own channel is consistent with the model she describes: she owns the platform, funds the work and answers directly to viewers.
Her advice to newcomers
Ademoye encouraged aspiring filmmakers and content creators to remain consistent. She stressed that audiences are often watching their work even when they do not immediately show their support.
She put it plainly in her closing remark:
"My thing is consistency because you think they are not watching, but they are watching."
The message is aimed at creators who see low early numbers and are tempted to stop. Her experience, as she tells it, is that visible support can lag well behind actual viewership.
What to watch next
The view counts she quotes are self-reported, and success on one platform does not guarantee the same results for every newcomer. Production costs are also still rising, which she acknowledges herself.
Even so, her record of releases on YouTube, a growing run of million-view titles and a willingness to try drama as well as comedy give other Nigerian creators a working example. Whether her approach can be copied at smaller budgets will depend on how steadily they can keep releasing and how closely they hold their audience's trust.
