smart work

A man, by name Roland recently got work in an oil company.

Roland, who graduated 10 years ago with a second class upper had been incessantly applying at different oil companies but his application was always far from acceptation. The Obvious reason, being that the oil companies preferred first class graduates.

As Roland refused to lose hope, he kept on trying, until one day, he received a text message from one of the companies, that he has been shortlisted for an Interview.

That very instance, his joy knew no bounds. He began to hone skills on interviews. He surfed websites online, solicited advice from friends, watched videos of interviews, and so.

Having fully preped himself, his confidence grew, and he became assured that he would secure the Job.

The D-Day arrived, and Roland presented himself at the recruitment office. Howbeit, to much of his dismay, he uncovered that the other candidates were all first class degree holders. He was the only one with a second class degree.

But as fate would have it, he was employed as a supervisor.

The Job, although lucrative, wasn’t as he hoped. He kept on defaulting, and at most, it was burdensome to set things right.

The jumbo pay that accompanied the Job was the only motive he had to keep going.

In the long run, he realised that his position was being threatened, as vacancies were being posted.

Knowing well enough that his Job would soon be relieved, he began to to save what he could out of his monthly salary.

He resigned before they got the chance to relieve him, and the substantial amount he saved, he utilized for starting up his own oil business, which recorded immense success few months later.

Inspiration

Roland represents those who graduate with hopes of working in a big company. Yet, what they sometimes overlook, is that working in a big organisation comes with big commitment.

The companies that pay big expect a lot from you. They are well aware that there are others like you in search of the Job. So, they can easily relieve you of your job, should you fall short of expectations.

It is worthy of note that nothing big comes with small work. The bigger the thing is, the higher the workload.

Thus, you should not use your whole life working in such a place, or jumping from place to place. Like Roland, know that, no matter, how long you work, you will one day, leave there.

In this regard, you need to raise capital, and acquire the skills necessary to start your own business.
