Taking Charge of Your Academics In 2022 – Part 1

In this article series, I will be sharing with you how you can wrest charge of your academics in 2022, and score higher grades in all your upcoming examinations, especially WAEC (SSCE) and JAMB (UTME).

As a student either pedagogical or andragogic, if you fail to do something extraordinary to take control of your academics, your studies will take charge of you and you know the implication.

2022 as a year, on its own does not have anything to give anybody; what you get academically is a product of your investments.

How To Take Charge Of Your Academics

1. Determine Your New Academic Level: 
   Making up your mind to move up the ladder of success in your learning is crucial. No one goes farther than their aspiration. If you settle for distinction, you will get it.
2. Do Something: Apart from you desiring excellence, what do you Do? It does not matter the number of activities engaged in by a student, if there is nothing done which is directly proportional to the dream, the student is still a dreamer-student. So put on paper your study schedule with books to consult. Be fair to your timetable.
3. Drop Some Things: You will agree with me that it is not everything you do that you need to do. There are activities we carry out which we know affirmatively if we quit them we will get better in our studies. For example, a candidate who loves watching football matches but has the Senior School Certificate Examination to take, for instance should understand their examination is more important than giving attention to football and its discussions. So commit yourself to your papers to be written instead.
4. Distance Yourself from Some Persons: Whatever is worth doing is worth doing it excellently. Having not just good grades but but outstanding scores in your results should spur you into taking the decision to uninstall some individuals from your life. Note that your friends who distract you while studying or do not add any value connected to your preparation for tests, and severe your relationship with them pending when are done achieving your set goals academically.
