The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has notified its customers of a planned power outage in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), due to a maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
AEDC revealed in an update via its official twitter handle that the low supply of electricity was due to the equally low generation of same by the Generation companies.
The Company assured that all stakeholders are currently working to restore stable supply as quickly as possible.
“We also use this opportunity to inform all our customers in the areas listed below that their power supply will be interrupted further on 19th February 2022 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
“The affected areas are Lokogoma, Apo Mechanic Village, Apo Resettlement, Waru Village, Gudu, Gaduwa Estate, Trademore Estate, Apo Legislative Quarters, Behind Transmission Substation, Efab Galaxy Estate, Efab Sunshine Estate, Ceda Crest Hospital and environs,” AEDC stated.
According to AEDC, the maintenance exercise is to enable TCN work on the 100MVA TR4 at the Apo Transmission substation, which will lead to improved quality of power supply.
The management of AEDC called for patience and understanding from customers, while on hands are on deck to ensure stable supply of electricity.
