In Collaboration with the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Microsoft Nigeria has commenced its Agro-Tech Hackathon for Nigerian youths between the ages 18 – 45.
According to Microsoft Nigeria, as there are thousands of farmers who are seeking platforms to showcase their skills towards solving real life problems, Microsoft Agro-Tech Hackathon will not only provide the platform to showcase skills but will also provide mentorship from seasoned and experienced Agricultural and IT professionals nationwide.
Microsoft Agro-Tech Hackathon NG will deliver solutions that Include the use of Bing Voice search on Feature phone, Empower farmers to gain more economic power and improve their profitability, Facilitate consumer access to farm produce quicker, Reduce the issue of waste especially on perishable items, and Potentially create employment opportunities within the agriculture industry and inclusive platform that connects the rich and the poor.
The competition begins today, March 28, 2022, and application closes April 22, 2022. Interested Nigerians should visit their application website, and click “Apply Now” to begin.
According to Microsoft Nigeria, the Prize for first position is NGN2,500,000, second position gets NGN1,500,000, and third position receives NGN1,000,000. Along with the prize money, each of these positions also get access to numerous offers, mentorship, and events.
