The famous -“all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” explains why schools set some time out for a holiday.
The summer holidays are here again and kids are at home with their parents/wards. Children see this time as a big relief from stress, and an opportunity to play all day long, keeping their parents, teachers, and neighborhood in awe.
Some parents see the holidays as a period to involve their children in their businesses, engaging them with commercial trade. These activities may not entirely be advantageous to kids.
However, there are other ways children can spend their holiday, that will improve their overall well-being and intellect. This will in turn give them a fun-filled and memorable holiday.
Here, we will get to know the 5 ways kids can enjoy their holiday.
Watching Cartoons and Kiddies Programs
The role Cartoons play in the cognitive ability of children cannot be exaggerated. Educative cartoons enable children to be fluent in English, learn about new objects, and also know how to solve problems in Science and Mathematics. Parents must caution their children against watching Cartoons that teach violence, lust, sex, and others.
Learning Skills
Children gain relevance in our present digital age when they learn skills. Children can use their summer holidays to learn simple digital skills like typing, coding, creative writing, graphics design, and so on. They can learn non-digital skills like painting/drawing, pattern drafting, baking, hair making, and many more.
Reading Books
When I mean children should read books, I don’t just tell academic books. They can read novels, plays, poems, comics, articles, and journals that will entertain, inform, and keep them busy.
Going Out
Recreational and fun activities cannot be pushed away from a child’s life. Parents should endeavor to spend time with their kids by taking them out to Amusement Parks, Beaches, Zoo/Nature Parks, Museums, and Tourist places. This will boost their self-esteem and make them more exposed.
Visiting Loved Ones
The holiday is a great time for children to reconnect with their loved ones such as Cousins, older siblings, Aunts, Uncles, and even Grandparents.
