AR/VR Africa has officially opened applications for its 2022 edition of their flagship hackathon.
The AR/VR Africa Hackathon is an opportunity for tech enthusiasts who love creativity, innovation and learning in Africa; to get hands-on experience in AR and VR design and development, and meet others who also want to learn and create with AR and VR.
2022 edition of AR/VR Africa Metathon focuses on the rapidly evolving immersive technologies of Augmented, Virtual, and Mixed Reality.
Geeky Nigeria reports that the Metathon is an event with three key components – AR/VR Africa Pre-hackathon training, AR/VR Africa Hackathon, and AR/VR Africa Bootcamp.
The objective is that participants will have the opportunity to receive pre-hackathon training, build solutions in the hackathon, and the winning teams proceed to a bootcamp to develop their solutions into MVPs.
According to AR/VR Africa, the Metathon is a fun, fast-paced, challenging and yet highly rewarding event where everyone is welcome to learn, build with and develop in XR.
Eligibility is open to everyone – developers, programmers, UI/UX designers, artists, animators, storytellers, enthusiasts, professionals, students, and all that want to spend time creating solutions with augmented, virtual, and mixed reality, and are resident in an African country.
Registeration have already begun since August 22, 2022. The deadline for registration is November 16, 2022. Between that time, you will have access to the Pre-hackathon training which commences on September 5, 2022.
